Farm to Fork Finale, in Fifty Words

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

While a picture may be worth a thousand words, sometimes writers just prefer …. words. On a whim, I jotted down some of the key phrases that came up during the students’ presentations at last night’s farm to fork dinner. (Photo slideshow here.) And, because these concepts are at the heart of the class—as well as this blog—I am sharing them with you here today, in no particular order.

Happy. Transportation. Nutrition. Fuel costs. Global. Production. Economy. Health. Fun. Water footprint. Time. Cost. Local. Quality. Alternative. Society. Convenience. Tradition. Organic. Packaging. Leftovers. Food waste. Cooking. Ethics. Family. Environment. Tasty. Seasonal. Business. Colorful. Healthy plate. Storage. Calories. Ecology. Food chain. Garden. Balance. Planet. Farmers. Carbon footprint. Food miles. Human rights. Transparency. Delicious. Modern. Community. Support. Sustainable. Value. Enjoy.

Yup, that about sums it up. Here’s to healthy eating, farm to fork!
